Additional Local Governments Pass Resolution Requesting Amendment 1 Funding for Land Acquisition in Florida

Dear FCC Members,
Recently we wrote to inform you that Martin County, with the Florida Conservation Coalition’s encouragement, had adopted a resolution urging the Florida Legislature to allocate $300 million annually from the Land Acquisition Trust Fund (Amendment 1 funds) to the Florida Forever program for conservation land acquisition.

Today, we are proud to write that two other local governments have adopted similar resolutions: Broward County and the Town of Surfside.
These resolutions are further acknowledgement that Floridians believe that land acquisition is critical in protecting our natural resources and that they expected the passage of Amendment 1 to result in more funding for land acquisition.
The FCC will continue to advocate for Florida Forever to be funded at historic levels, and we thank Martin County, Broward County, and the Town of Surfside for their support in this effort.
